Rodrigo De Paul and Udinese director Daniele Pradè claim Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik should’ve been sent off for a two-footed tackle.
The incident occurred when it was still only 1-0 at the Dacia Arena, a game that the Partenopei went on to win 3-0.
Milik lunged into the challenge on De Paul and was booked, then the VAR booth urged the referee to view it again on the touchline screen, but he decided a yellow was sufficient.
“I think a red card was warranted and you don’t even need to see the video screen, just look at my foot,” De Paul told reporters.
Udinese director of sport Pradè was even more adamant in his condemnation.
“The footage might not have been all that clear, but looking at Rodrigo’s ankle and listening to the comments from his teammates, it was a foul worthy of a straight red.
“A dismissal at that moment would’ve completely changed the game.”
